Golegã Horse Fair

Golegã Horse Fair, "Feira da Golegã", has been always a main meeting and trading place for Lusitano horses which are the most famous Portuguese horses. In fact, Golegã horse Fair is the main Portuguese Horse Fair so it is also called National Horse Fair, "Feira Nacional do Cavalo". This Fair is held at Golegã which is in the region of Ribatejo and occurs during about one week in the month of November.

If you appreciate Lusitano horses, the main Portuguese horse breed, then you can not miss this event. Most of Lusitano horse breeders bring horses to shows and competitions. In addition, Golegã Horse Fair is a popular Fair where many horse owners bring their horse to show or just enjoy the social side of this fair, many times dressing with the traditional riding costumes.
