Portuguese places
There two main views when speaking about Portuguese places: one view that refers to the man made places and the other view to the natural places. Of course the existing landscape nowadays is also a result of a long Human influence. These two views helped VINIPortugal to describe Portuguese places.

Visitng a country implies almost always to visit monunents that were build during its process of evolution. Many times they refere to special ocasions witnesses of past events. Since Portugal was founded many centuries ago there are many monuments worth to visit, from the North to the South. In addition, when refering to man made places cities and villages certainly occupy a large proportion of such landscapes. Portugal as recent history of a big migration within the country from the countryside to the larger cities mainly located in the coastal region of Portugal.
Natural landscapes have a large variation from North to South and from the coast to inland. Probably one of the main drivers for such variation is the large variation of anual rainfall, which is highest in the North coastal and lowest in the South inland.
